About us

Hello!

We’re Ecotalk, the mobile provider that does things differently.

Instead of lining shareholders’ pockets with dividends, we use our profits to protect nature in Britain. For example, we’re helping bring back Britain’s lost rainforests, planting lots of trees, reintroducing beavers, and improving habitats for pine martens and red squirrels.

At the same time, our customers get everything they’d expect of a leading mobile operator. Our business is powered by green energy and our service delivers the best coverage and the fastest data speeds, along with amazing customer support. And we offer all of this at a competitive price.

Putting our SIM into your smartphone is one of the easiest ways of doing something for the environment. Choose the monthly tariff that suits you and whenever you pay your mobile bill you’ll be contributing to a greener Britain.

It really is that simple.

Our story

Ecotalk was launched in 2018 by green entrepreneur Dale Vince – founder of Ecotricity, the world’s first green energy company; and chairman of Forest Green Rovers, the world’s greenest football club.

With mobile phones essential to modern living, Dale identified the opportunity to take something that’s part of everyday life and use it to benefit nature in Britain. Ecotalk proves that it’s possible to protect the environment without giving something up or paying more – all we need to do is take a slightly different approach.

Since it was founded, Ecotalk has faced the threat to Britain’s ecosystems head on. We’ve done this by securing land in Gloucestershire, East Sussex and Gwynedd where we are planting trees and restoring habitats so that indigenous wildflowers, insects, birds and mammals can re-establish themselves and thrive.

Now, we’re focussing on bringing back Britain’s temperate rainforests with projects planned in the western part of the country. This wonderful but little-known biome thrived in Britain for millennia but has been devastated by deforestation, encroachment by agriculture, poor planning and neglect.

Ecotalk forms part of the Green Britain Group – like minded companies that are introducing another way of doing things in the key areas of energy, transport and food, and beyond. Find out more here.
